Project DetailsName of Project: Jotsholo 70 Village Sanitation INTRODUCTIONWater and Sanitation remains a challenge for many in the developing world, and with the challenge of the MDGs, some of us began to see the light and the end of the tunnel. We are just a fraction of the BIG problem that faces us, but we believe with this single foot step towards changing our situation may result in us celebrating the achievement of the MDGs in 2015. Almost twenty-eight, of the 70 villages of Jotsholo Village haven’t got proper sanitation. This has made some development sectors, such Lupane District Development Assoc. Start to realise that more has to be done to deal with the problem. These homesteads are within the Jotsholo Village but at the East of Jotsholo Growth Point. There is an urgent need for Blair Toilets, and as it stands diseases such as Cholera can quickly destroy lives and erode any chances of achieving the MDGs. The community affected is prepared to do the work if they are assisted by the full set of equipment. This is a big cry from this village. OBJECTIVESThe main objectives of these people are:-
PROJECT JUSTIFICATIONPeople from the same village and some nearby villages have seen a need for this project to be done for these homesteads. Communities are poor, and access to Cash from contributions has proved a failure from its residents, LUDDA is their only mouth piece in making project proposals on their behalf. Any visitor or outsider who visits the area does see that these people need some form of assistance, especially with the young children who form the majority of the population. PROJECT REQUIREMENTS70 full set of Blair Toilets SUMMARYIn Lupane District, everyone with a development mind is really crying for these homesteads to be assisted. The ministry’s department such as Ministry of Health and Child Welfare is prepared with the E.H.T’s on the construction of the Blair toilets. The members of Lupane District Development Assoc. are scattered all over Lupane Wards but they inform each other about the developments happening in their wards/villages. Finally, everybody in Lupane District is appealing for the great assistance to a group of 70 homesteads. |
